I've been using linux as my sole operating system for the past decade, so I don't know much about Windows anymore.

I'm about to start using a windows 10 VM instead of a windows 7 VM, what do I need to do after install to remove things? I'll be using a legit key from MSDN, so no concerns with cracking. I'd just prefer to not use a microsoft account, no Cortana Shit, no fullscreen applications, no wierd start menu, just normal Windows.

The only advantage of 10 is that it has built in drivers for some new hardware, which might work better in some situations (like resuming from sleep).
Other than that, I don't really see the point. It's buggy and unfinished. It's not faster in any way, not even booting. Also it requires wasting more time to disable ads and other annoyances.

But at the end of the day, it's still pretty much the same Windows we've had for over 20 years. Not much has changed, which is both good and bad.
