So I went and bought iPhone 7 and now I absolutely need bluetooth phones. To be honest I wanted a pair for a while.
Thinking of Sony MDR1-ABT, is there anything else over-ear to consider?

MDR-1000X

AirPods. You've already made retarded decisions, may as well go full retard.

I got myself the Sony MDR-1ABT MK2 model back in 2015.
I absolutely love them. I use them with the cable most of the time, only have listened for about 20 hours on battery during flights and so on.

Damn, they're way pricier than ABT model. Is noise cancelling that good?

Yeah yeah, I bought an Apple product so crucify me. And I would've bought Airpods if they weren't solid plastic in shape that physically hurts my ears. I have simple in-ear EX250AP phones right now, I thought of buying another wireless in-ear pair, but then decided to upgrade and use them at home, too.

I really love their design (and price tag) over the 1000X the other guy suggested, but noise cancelling... I don't know, I've never tried that. I do take subway train every day and use my earbuds to dull the loud noise (second world shithole that can't build trains properly). Noise cancelling would've probably been a godsend to me.

Mine don't have noise cancelling either but provide great noise isolation.
Even with them on I stop hearing most things and when something is playing, it blocks out most sounds.
My main reason for them was the design too. And also that I was living in Australia at the time and could afford them. Now they would cost me 1/4 of my paycheck.

Where did you move to?

Back home to Estonia. Spent 2 years in Australia as a labourer and made 3 times as much as I do here now as an IT-specialist.

Noise canceling is awesome.
Well worth it imo, especially if you use the subway or fly a lot.
