It's a blue switch which is more tactical but a bit noisy. You can dim the sound a bit using orings.

It uses Gateron Black switches which are incredibly smooth linear switches that I really like. I know it's not the color that you're looking for, but since it has backlighting that might make it easier for him to see the lettering more easily
