eATM hack - how did they do it?

its a new design - they want to stop using ATM cards (too easy to copy) so they created a system that uses a chase app on your phone and an ATM that looks for the app. im sure based on some code + proximity as well

Guess they figured out how the chase "app" worked, maybe then dumped the memory at some point.
Does the app let you change you bank account settings? That would be an epic fail
