Why is it impossible for Windows Users to change their User Folder name?!
What does Microsoft mean by that?!
What is the exact reasoning for this?!

rajeet on damage control
>>58986748
Umm... because it isn't?
Here's how you do it:
regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList > change ProfileImagePath > boom done!
Not that hard at all.
>>58987045
Umm .. no doesnt work
>>58986748
I think this was possible in win7.
>>58986748
>impossible for Windows Users to change their User Folder name?!

read next time.
You can't do it in Linux either...
>>58987880
Now you are one dumb motherfucker.
>Make new user with desired name
>Move data from old user to new one
>???
>Profit!
It take a special kind of retard that tries to do basic stuff the hard way.
>>58986889
serious question here,
how do you think your kids will go through school? knowing their father is a failure who gets paid in bing points to post on a Bangladeshi textiles, kniting and sewing forum? this is worse than being a meter maid
>>58987900
Tell me how to do it in Linux then... protip... you can't...
>>58987914
because it's not a rename, the data must be copied over. if you've got a full drive and don't know how to use robocopy you're fucked.
>>58987146
Yes it does, I'm a Windows sysadmin and I do that literally everyday, you fag, except I use it to migrate Active Directory profiles.
>>58987945
>sudo editor /etc/shadow
>find your user
>change home folder section
>sudo mv oldfolder newfolder
>?????
>profit
>>58987995
Graphically, faggot. On Windows you can also do this through powershell or regedit. See >>58987045
>>58988007
It is graphically displayed on your monitor :^) checkmate atheists
>>58987951
MOVE != COPY data
Holy shit you're double retarded
>>58987991
it literally says in the picture that this does break functionalities you autist
>sysadmin
lmao ... loser
>>58988082
What picture? I've never seen any break in functionality. Unless, of course, you do it wrong. Git gud.
>>58987951
Renaming and moving is the same thing.
>>58986748
This is why I don't keep anything important on an account folder and just keep any data on another drive/partition.
>>58988382
It's more accurate to say you can't change the C:\users\<username> folder name of the logged in user. For a home PC, you'd have to make a temp admin account first, then change the reg path + profile directory name from there.
It looks like the guy in OP didn't even attempt to change the directory if he didn't cop it.
