You don't need a PSU that can handle ALL YOUR SHIT GOING AT ONCE, because you've probably never had all of your shit pulling full power at once unless you forced it to with a stress test or similar.

PSUs' efficiency usually peaks at around 50% load, so it makes sense to get something like an 800 W. I have a 650 W 80+ platinum for my RX 480 + Xeon E3-1230V2.
