Having issues with a Toshiba v63600-C 1TB external HDD.
On my Surface Book, the drive functions perfectly. On my Z77X-UD5H mobo the drive is constantly failing to appear in Windows or receive power.
The drive has to be physically unplugged and plugged back in for Windows to detect the drive or for the HDD to even receive power, and this is only a temporary solution as the drive will disappear and lose power after a few minutes. This is the same case for all USB ports through expansion slots and the integrated USB 3.0 ports on the motherboard.
Other USB 3.0 devices like my 16 GB Patriot Quick Drive seem to function normally and high current devices like my Nexus 6 are able to draw power normally without a problem.
Any ideas on how to get the drive functioning normally on the desktop motherboard?
