Hi /g/, I was just calling you about the Software Engineer position you applied for. Your resumé and portfolio were looking great, so we just wanted to give you a quick phone interview before we have you come into the office in person for a final interview. We'll need you to answer the following programming problems and questions, in less than 10 minutes - which should be plenty of time - each:
1. Write a program that accepts five chars and prints "true" if they are in forward OR reverse alphabetical order, and false otherwise.
2. Write a working variation of FizzBuzz. Doesn't have to be "Enterprise edition", make it as minimal as you like.
3. Describe and give an example of a use of each of the following data structures: Stack, Queue, Binary Tree and Linked List.
4. Explain why programmers always confuse Christmas and Halloween.
5. Explain the procedure for the following algorithms in English: Sequential search, binary search, insertion sort and bubble sort.

Blimey but the first question doesn't make any sense.
what's not to understand? Here's some sample output:
>main a b c d e
true
>main e d c b a
true
>main e g u x z
true
>main z g d c a
true
>main z y x w v
true
>main a f s w e
false
>main a b d c e
false
>main a e c e b
false
>main y t w a f
false

How the bloody hell do you imagine this over a phone conversation?
>3
Stacks and queues are not data structures.
>4
We pop culture references now.
>5
This one seems legitimate.

What's 4?

Because OCT 31 is DEC 25.

I wish I never asked
