People don't care about technical differences in OSes (nor does /g/ for that matter) - they just want a substrate that will run software they rely on every day. Good luck getting Facebook and Snap to port their millions of lines of Java/Android code to your snowflake OS, or even getting Qualcomm to write device drivers for it.
