You might want to disable multiprocess windows.
They've started rolling multiprocess out but it still has issues on some configurations and with some extensions.

I've had that problem real bad the past week or so... I fixed it today.
I backed up my profile to my desktop (I have a lot of passwords and bookmarks), then uninstalled Firefox.
Then I ran Ccleaner.
Reinstalled Firefox, replaced my profile files with the new one created.
NO MORE LAG, hasn't frozen once all day.
