>intel 600p 512gb
is this a good ssd?
if not,
any similarly priced or better price/performance alternatives?
For an m.2 interface it is out performed by mid range traditional SSDs. If you don't need the speeds of a good m.2 drive, then it could work.
Personally, I wouldn't waste my likely only m.2 slot on something that doesn't utilize it well at all.
Either save up to buy a better one, drop the capacity to 256GB or just buy a traditional SSD to tide you over

I was going to ask if I should get the 256GB version, I guess I will, that should be enough for my use case.
I need m.2 because 2,5" won't fit in my laptop.
i bought this for my desktop for 150€, it's very fast but I agree it might be a waste of your only m.2 slot. For me, it's better than using another SATA cable in my case.

I have two m.2 slots, currently have 2x128gb ssds in raid 0

No. SM961 is.
I just realised I don't really need this.
I'll wait for my current ssds to die before buying new ones, and hope toshiba makes good ones by then

The power consumption numbers for that SSD are absurd. Samsung 960 series has an habit of cooking itself and Intel 600p has twice the heat output.
