Hello /g/
Why are computers working in binary? Why not in decimal or hexadecimal ? Wouldn't they be gazillions of times faster and store more data?
That's a great idea!
Now you just need to figure out how to represent decimal or hexadecimal values using electric signals that can only have 2 states (on and off), I'm sure a genius like you won't have a problem with this.

maki give me the faki

off switch
on switch
if you can make it any other way, you will make billions
>>58956647
there were analog computers
anyway, it's safer to operate on two (high/low) voltage values than gazillion of different levels of voltage which are easy to get wrong

>electric signals can be only interpreted as on/off
you're certainly far cry from genius like animu-spaming op

this
it's not a "is it possible" problem, it's a question of efficiency, simplicity, and expressibility

What do you mean?

This poorfag ain't got dimmer switches in every room.

Maki!

Quantum computers. They are really FAST by the way.

because of boolean logic
quantum computing would be ternary
