How come this shit doesn't cook when they're so close?

Damn anon I expected some bacon on the gpus, disappointed
i often wondered that. i always assumed pictures of cards slotted like that was meme marketing material. i'd never expect it to work practically on air

Costly for an enthusiast but
Stay tuned...
We just bought our second 8 GPU rig! In a future post we'll show you how to easily support distributed cracking using Hashview.

Its a total meme build. Cant use it for gaymen and you don't use nvidia gtx cards for anything else.

GPU dies are tougher than procs, blower cooling pushes out enough air and it's a functional build
>>58941355
Because of airflow coming from the fans in the case already, and the blower styled fans on the GPU pulling air in the same direction. Server fans are made without any concerns for volume, so they push a lot more air. There's a reason people hate 1U rack servers.
Example

Because those are designed to blow air out the back, and the chassis takes air in the front.

blower coolers can do that
Why would anyone need more than 2 GPUs unless they're some mining maniac?
And besides mining CPU-only cryptos is more profitable.

Cause it's actually gpu1 running 100% and the rest just helping the first one at like 8% or lower.
Here are two better questions.
How come VRAM doesn't stack in crossfire/SLI?
How hard can this be to make possible?
>>58944151
GPU A can't access the VRAM on card B fast enough. It would simply cripple memory performance and thus destroy performance.

>>58944387
Wait does that mean that with 2 gb crossfire/SLI cards you still have 2gb vram?
>>58941355
I get the hardware part but what kind of software do they use to crack passwords? I imagine being stuck at Windows login screen, nothing has been loaded. How the hell do you run something in that closed space to crack the password? What about BIOS password? At that point even the HDD and devices are not yet loaded.
>>58944405
Uh, yeah. In fact, if you have one 4gb card and one 2gb card, the one with the least memory will be used.
>>58944425
damn why is crossfire/SLI so shit?

Because they're not AMD
