>"inb4 what.cd"

Oh, you.
RuTracker and SoulseekQt
What CD is dead
Soulseek sucks by 2017 standards
Spotify is great because they get new releases the fastest, they don't use any mobile data on T-Mobile, and if you get a cracked apk on Android you get all the premium features and save phone space.
>>58939517
I bet the old TDG, a.k.a Groundswell is not on Spotify, so fuck it
>>58939389

although a good thing since it keeps normalfags like me out
Various sources of varying quality. This is offset because I don't listen to the source tracks. I use that as training data for a neural net which is trained on my entire music library, and which I then request for predictions of future music from. I listen to that and it is basically a constant evolving perfect song that is perfect just for me.

Spotify, obviously

ncore.cc
everything i need is on google play. aside from that, i download from jpopsuki, baka.bt for anime OSTs and upload them to google play anyways
amazon
itunes
I only listen to the finest doujin music with download links from a spreadsheet.
I have accounts on a few music trackers, but honestly it's just so much easier to use spotify that I can't be bothered to download music anymore.
It kind of bums me out but there's no denying convenience.
I grab the highest quality m4a from YouTube with Flashgot ,like a civilized person.
I only listen to openmpt tracks
>>58939389
>>soulseek doesn't have a cli version, and it's has pretty bad ui control desu
Congratulations on having never been old enough to use Napster.
>>58939758
You didn't immediately join the defacto what.cd replacement during the open sign ups the day after what.cd died?
Your loss, man. Place is filling up fast, 633,015 torrents already.
>>58939476
yup same, most audio files come from HD videos and the audio bitrate is over 128k, and that's good enough for me. I'm no audiophile.
If the song has been made intentionally quiet (like a Vevo artist), then just open the mp3 in audacity and amplify it
>>58939948
desu the bitrate of the file is irrelevant if you don't know the provenance of the file, it's like saying a picture is high quality because of the resolution w/o realizing it's an upscale.
though if it sounds good to you it doesn't really matter.
>>58939947
apollo is definitely not the defacto wcd replacement, but tell people what you want i guess.
Pedros and exigo for life
>>58939947
Missed out. Seems they're having interviews now though. Maybe I'll sign up for one.
>>58939983
>apollo is definitely not the defacto wcd replacement, but tell people what you want i guess.
And why is that? It's user base is almost entirely wcd users, it has a large chunk of wcd torrents in only a month, same general systems for the site.
Keep crying because you missed the sign up.
>>58939638
you madman
i like you
>>58940101
So is an interview the only way to get in now?
I read somewhere that people got allowed in because they submitted proof they got email from what.cd but that doesn't really make sense to me.
Mainly sharethreads on /mu/, but that's obviously music I haven't heard before. Second would be Apollo, but only because I have a good buffer there. I'd prefer to get more music from PassTheHeadphones because I trust the users there more, but not enough buffer. Other than those, soulseek, though it's awful about filtering out transcodes, and rarely rutracker.
>>58939948
>just open the mp3 in audacity and amplify it

no, you use aacgain for lossless amplification

>its userbase is almost entirely wcd users
considering it started with open registration im not sure how you can be retarded enough to believe this
>a large chunk of wcd torrents in only a month
every music tracker in existence has cross-seeded torrents originating on wcd
>same general systems for the site
yes it's called gazelle you mongoloid
>Keep crying because you missed the sign up.
this is just embarrassing if you genuinely believe that apollo is hard to get into

it's pretty good but it's a pain to find obscure artists like VEGA on it.

Torrents, 4shared when I'm searching for regional obscure stuff and YouTube when all else fails.
>>58943114
>4shared
how to search?
I google "albumname.rar" or .zip
Usually gives me mega links / some obscure blog with links to filesharing sites.
That or torrents.

I make FLACs of them and then sell the discs.
Honestly, I don't download music anymore. I just stream shit on Youtube. I have a sizeable CD collection from the past, though.
It's shit, too, as I do actually care about audio quality. I really have no excuse other than laziness.

Is there soulseek for Linux / does soulseek work in wine

Bleep.com -> flac direct to my hard drive
I make my own music and listen to it. No I will not post it
i havent downloaded anything since the wcd incident. i guess i should try to get in a replacement but I didnt have to pass the wcd interview and encoding is totally useless as a producer so I hardly know shit about it

Amazon. It's time stop stealing from your favourite bands and artists /g/.
Spotify is literally piracy.
>>58947491
total pleb is not knowing about bitrate at all
pleb is placebo level audiophile
patrician is actually being able to tell the difference and using the lowest bitrate format that you cant tell the difference vs lossless on
ultimate patrician is realizing it doesnt really matter and listening to whatever
autistic audio engineer mode is only listening to lossless even though you know you cant tell the difference because you n-never know when you m-might have to pitch it down 10khz
>>58939389
I personaly prefer spotify
But I also like to put a recorder (or my smartphone running some record app) in front of a radio and record the songs that cheers me up
I modulate my world coordinates in such a way that I am within the bounding box of a record shop and make a monetary transaction that results in me obtaining a disc of metal and plastic on which the audio data is stored in a PCM format.
Groove Music subscription
anyone recommend a playstore-less email-less service?

i belive you can get into PTH if you have proof of being in what.cd try joining the irc and asking an admin

I'm honestly surprised to see all of these youtube answers. I'm turbo-pleb. Once I discovered youtube-dl, it was game over.
I don't listen to or care about music like I used to. So I don't spend much time trying to get music. But when I do it is exclusively from yt.
