Simple thread: What's /g/'s favorite web browser?

I've been using Firefox for years. Thought I'd check out Chrome today but was immediately jettisoned back to Firefox because there isn't an "automatically clear history when quitting" option. I've always hated the idea of a gigantic, pointless history building up with crap I'll never need to revisit. I could've installed an extension to do it, but it's a work computer and having that on there would look incredibly suspicious, plus it seems lazy on Google's part to leave it up to third parties.

Funnily enough, I went to uninstall Chrome and it actually asked me if I wanted to delete my history as well.

I'm looking for the perfect browser too, i use chrome only because i can't live without web push notifications (which dont really work with youtube in others browsers) but i really love all the options you get in firefox.

Firefox is shit but others are worse.
>>
>>58911679
fatfox.

Addons still can make it look and work just like in its golden age. Everything else is just plainly worse.

I use Chromium as a secondary browser btw. Redtube works better with that.

>Firefox is shit

Please elaborate. I've never had a problem with it, I just felt like a change of scenery, but Chrome lacking the simplest of simple functions is what made me think THAT was shit.

Not to turn this into a best pornsite thread but I haven't used that slow piece of shit since grade school. Xvideos is where it's at.

Thuis. It even supports HTTPS

Firefox is the only browser that truly matters if you care about customization and modding. Yes Chrome might be a bit faster in the placebo mode (aka "It sure seems faster to me..." which is what most people say even in spite of actual benchmarks saying Firefox is equal or faster in operation) but that doesn't make up for the severe lack of customization that Firefox excels at.

And yes, Mozilla is fucking things up slowly with Firefox so I'll be using Firefox ESR for as long as I can and not the regular general public use version which is sad but shit happens.

Every other browser is useless to me overall. Had high hopes for Brave considering the heritage (Brave was created by the guy that helped create Firefox) but they have no intentions of making it anywhere near as customizable as Firefox remains, and even in spite of Brave being somewhat quick overall it's just not enough.

I don't give a fuck about a few milliseconds here and there, I care about being able to make the browser what I want and require it to be based on my own patterns of usage which is only something I can do with Firefox.

Keep it ope/use it for 2 hours and keep only 1 blank tab:
CPU constantly at 20-40% and memory 1.2GB/firefox.exe
After 30min same.
Continue to use it memory and cpu goes up until it freezes.

Seamonkey. Traditional, open, master race Netscape look, built-in mail client, add-ons and extensions, simple but with more in depth options available than all other browsers combined.
>>
>>58911679
Opera 12.

I am yet to find another browser that blocks ALL pop ups and redirects.

Strawpolls posted here consistently prove that most of /g/ uses Firefox or one of its forks. This is despite the constant shitposting and fud spewing by certain individuals, of which you can often see 2-3 threads open at the same time in the catalog.

Isn't that subjective to the PC you're using? I've never noticed it having any affect on performance, and I've almost always got it running behind games or actual CPU leechers like the Adobe suite.
>>
>>58912068
When I open it, it instantly loads 280MB in the memory.
The only reason I still use it is cause of the addons.
My pc is dual core, granted, but what I don't understand is why is it using so much memory and cpu with one blank tab.
With other software and games I never had performance problems
>running windows8.1and doing regular scans with hitmanpro and malwarebytes

I use Chropera,
>faster than FF
>usable UI unlike Chrome/ium
>has sync unlike Vivaldi(Vivaldi has more UI tuning though, I'll give you that)
>not a meme unlike other forks
>god tier mobile version to sync with
But it's still pretty bad, missing some features from the OG Opera, has some ridiculous gimmicks, security is not guaranteed.

>automatically clear history when quitting
Ayyy exactly this.

I've tried chromium a couple of times now, mainly because firefox seems to be crashing a lot lately, but the lack of this option keeps bringing me back. Seems insane not to have this option there.

probably but as I said addons are the only reason I still use it.

for me, its pornhub or /gif/
>>
>>58911679
firefox nightly is by far the best browser.
Pale moon is a decent choice if you're using really old shitty hardware.
Ungoogled chromium isn't actually bad, but I don't see much of a reason to use it over firefox nightly since the speed improvements are negligible, and it loses out on pretty much every category.

On a side note: I just installed debian for the first time and the whole firefox think is fucked. I can't tell if iceweasel is the same thing as firefox esr or if they're different.

Just downloaded Pale Moon to give it a test drive. Seems pretty cozy.

I used Firefox for awhile but it kept getting to a point to where it'd crash and I'd have to run CCleaner to get it running again so I switched to Chrome. Works fine, idc if people see my porn history at this point, it works
>>

why

been using firefox/Nightly since forever, but its running so slow (download speed) also youtube runs like shit now on it.

trying out Chrome

This. And now that it supports SDK extensions it's going to be the new Firefox
