Is there any software capable of:
> Rate my music and store the data in a database
> Rate my videos and store the data in a database
I think the closest is Miro, but that is abandonware now.
hard mode; *Nix + Windows available

Rhythmbox? Which platform? IIRC, there's iTunes for Windows.

Quick fix, I see now. Sorry, didn't pay attention.

>rating your music/vids
wtf

Creating smart playlists that auto-update on their own when you upvote or downvote a song. Pretty comfy, always get only what you want to hear and slowly get rid of what you're already tired of.

Rhythmbox only tracks music, but it's a pretty good choice

I have a very big library, so it's nice to order by play counts, stars, genres or even bitrates
For music I use Clementine, but i for videos I only know Banshee and Miro. The problem is that Banshee is heavily dependent of Mono and for Miro, last update in 2013
tl;dr something for manage videos

KDE can do this with any/all of your files. Their file manager (Dolphin) is connected to Baloo (their database backend) and can store ratings, tags (user defined keywords), and comments. Additionally, it allows you to utilize ratings in file searches, and the views support sorting by various metadata (artist, album, etc...)
