what exactly do you think chink phone means?

in here it means xiaomi or lenovo phones
phones that you most likely cant get in your regular shop near you
phones that offer great value but might lack LTE and you need to order them from honk kong or wherever

Honor 8 is not a chink phone in that sense
its worldwide available and very good choice

I've been playing the Fire Emblem cancer for the last few days since I like the series and have played every single game except the Marth Nes games. Went ahead and installed Windows on a new drive just for the sake of the nox emulator. I have 4 accounts with 2-3 five* on the back.. It's an ok gacha game, but I don't see it having a long future given how the only way to get orbs after finishing all of the chapters is to just log in every day or put out shekels. Worst part is that the former has a date limit as well.

I love The Battle Cats
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.ponos.battlecatsen&hl=en

its extremely addictive and I played it every day for over 6 months
you are limited by energy that slowly recharges so you wont be going on 2 hour game sessions
but that keeps the game interesting, that you dont overeat on it fast

you get few units that you use to defend and destroy your base
and as you progress you get better and cooler cats while also getting harder and harder enemies

japs or whoever release it really mastered the balance of units, though its bit rich on anime bullshit occasionally

What apps should I put on my Galaxy Note 4 (rooted, and exynos if it matters) if I want to max out its battery life?

I already have Greenify, and xposed with that, Amplify, and Appopsxposed. (I prefer it to M's app permission system) No facebook or other battery-hogging apps, and I gutted the system apps and removed just about everything I could get without putting the functionality I want in jeopardy.

Hi, /spg/. I want to buy a new phone. I'm willing to pay like $300 (€280) or so, but that's flexible if I can get a phone with a good price/value ratio. I'm in Ireland, and my carrier will most likely be Three UK

I'd like a phone with decent storage (my last phone had just 8GB and that sucked). I'd like something esthetically pleasing, and good sound quality would be a plus. I'm a big guy so a big phone probably wouldn't pose a problem. Other than that I'd just like to get good specs for the price.

Thanks in advance to anyone who responds to this.

I'm jealous, I really want the mate 9.

Got the honor 8 dirt cheap on black Friday online for $200 with some Boise headphones and a fuckton of accessories for free.

EMUI 4.0 is pretty unsightly, but the battery saving functions of it along with knucklesense are pretty tight.

I am just I'm purgatory of the Android 7.0 and EMUI 5.0 update for it they promised in "mid-feburary"

But otherwise, their shit is top notch for the price, especially on the battery side.

Got my Mate 9 last month, best phone I've ever had.

They finally made EMUI palpable, but I fear for the future of Huawei here in the US, if they tariff china that shit is gonna either skyrocket in price or not even be available at all here.

Which is a shame, seeing how they are the only ones bringing better optimzed processors to the game at a cheaper pricepoint.

Easier to unlock and flash too(don't have to beg for Xiaomi to give you permission, which then fails for half of the users anyway), and ZUI is much better than MiUi, which a cancerous, buggy pile of shite.

The RN3P was only a meme because it housed SD650 in a $150 phone.

I got a Samsung J5 2015. I've flashed CM12.1 (5.1.1) on it. It increased the battery time enormously. The battery time reaches 4 - 6 days on CM12.1 instead of 1 day when it ran Crapwiz Stock (6.0.1).

I used to have verizon, switched to t mobile. Way cheaper, and I honestly cant notice a difference. The only time I lost service with tmobile where I would have maybe had it is out in the boonies where no one even lives.

Plus tmobile lets me upgrade 3 times a year so I can get whatever new phone I want. And it works better when I go to europe in the summer.
>>

>Plus tmobile lets me upgrade 3 times a year

>>

I'm on TMobile and considering the switch because TMobile doesn't work in my places inside the building I work whereas Verizon works everywhere because of a better LTE frequency.
>>
I droped my phone the other day and now the screen won't turn on. Is there anything i can do about it or do i have to buy a new phone? I'm okay with buying a new phone, but would not mind trying to fix it.
If it comes down to buying new phone I'm looking for:
>great support with android updates (very important)
>good camera
>good speakers
>good price/performance ratio
>around 150-200€
I live in Europe so if i'm ordering from China, you have to count in a 20% tax. What phones do you recommend?
>>
>>58913786
Port your number over to the new provider, usually that terminates your old service. Don't just stop paying unless you're sure it will terminate. Will fuck your credit bruh.
>>
>>58915069
Honestly it's decent. Single core performance lacks a lot but multicore is decent. Battery life is fucking great, I averaged 6 to 8 hours SOT over a day or two per charge.

I returned it for two reasons. Size was just too much to carry at work, and the glass back plate scared me. I work in the industrial sector, so I need a phone that can take a bit of a beating. Like being in a pocket and maybe have pressure on it from me bending around or leaning against something.

Screen was nice, battery is great, camera was fast and the design was nice. Fingerprint scanner was fast and stuff too. The processor isn't terrible, between a SD650 and 617. Doesn't overheat because 14nm I think it was, and it sips power.

If you're not hard on a phone, it'll last. If you need a heavier duty phone, it may not be for you. Make sure to get a decent case to cover the back if that's your concern.
>>
It's been a minute since I've kept up with phones. Last I checked in here the go to budget phone was the Rn3p, but i assume that is no longer the case
I'm looking for a phone with reasonable battery life, unlockable bootloader, able to be rooted, and it needs to work on 4g ATT. Other than that the next biggest priority is a good camera, preferably the best I can get. The budget limit is 200 bucks, and I need to be able to get it before May. I need the good camera for a road trip ill be taking, I need a new phone anyways and I dont want to have to buy a camera on it's own.
Any ideas? I was thinking about maybe trying to pick up a used or refurbished Nexus 5x, i know it has its share of problems but it seems to be the closest to fitting what I need.
I'll consider buying a camera if that seems to make more sense, as it stands though my phone is barely holding on to life and I'm due for an upgrade in july, but I need a reliable, "good" phone for the trip anyway, so if i can get one with a good camera that would be nice.

You pay monthly for your phone, turn in your old phone when you want to upgrade.

It works for me, I have a good job, if I ever wanted to leave and keep my phone Id have to pay like 300$ but Ive upgraded so many times already that I dont see an issue with it.
>>
What should I get between those:
- ZTE Axon 7
- OnePlus 3T
- Moto Z
- LG V20
- HTC 10

With verizon it straight up didnt work half the time. Had to go to verizon and buy the international plan for a month and the shit still didnt work and I had my uncle get me some cheap phone just to be able to make calls.

With tmobile, it works when you land. Tmobile is a european company im pretty sure. Didnt need a new sim or anything, I had service automatically when I was there. Text and calls were free and so was basic data, if you wanted 4g it cost 10$ I believe (you get a text asking you if you want it) which was still cheaper than what verizon wanted.
>>
>>58920843
Moto Z + optional battery mod will work fine, pure android is great for bettery life. Coupled with quickcharge through usb-c it should be pretty convenient. I don't think the Incipio battery can be charged via cable, but it supports wireless charging (and of course when attached to the phone).

It's an amoled screen, but not as oversaturated as S6's.

The Nexus 5x is a piece of shit. I like Project Fi, but hate the 5x:

* Barely faster than the old Nexus 4.
* If you keep headphones on after something finishes playing, you'll hear all this obnoxious popping and clicking from (presumably) the cellular radio.
* No SD expansion.
* Camera screws up all the time, like the flash finishes before the camera gets activated.
* Not much memory, seems to exacerbate the lack of speed.

Is there anything reasonable on the horizon for Project Fi's weird dual-SIM-on-one-SIM-card Sprint + T-Mobile setup?
>>

Niggerson, you are misguiding the poor anon. Unlocking RN3Pro is not a problem. Boot to EDL, and flash TWRP, and root through that. Simple.

Second way to do it is to dload the firmware, change a file inside it, and flash it back to the phone. Single ADB command inlocks the bootloader. After that flash recovery and root.

Back tonpicking cottons for ya, boy. You have no skills for phonez.

Ask the seller to declare $20 or lower value on the package and it won't get taxed. Redmi Note 3 Pro SE, Redmi 4 Prime, Redmi Note 4X, Zuk Z2 have best price/performance but if you really need a good camera maybe get an older flagship.

Looking at ditching my dying Note 4 and going for the Mate 9. Looking at the MHA-AL00 version.. 6gb/128gb. Or is there a working way to install all the google apps?

Just buy a Meizu M5 from aliexpress. It's like $140, that's as good as it gets if you're on a budget.

Otherwise walk into jbhifi or allphones to see what they got.

At that price you'll be getting a decent daylight camera and absolutely dogshit low light camera images.

If camera really matters, spend the extra and get the honor 8 would be my recommendation.

The Meizu is really great for the price though if you're more comfortable with spending less.

I got the redmi 3 pro because it had good battery life and was cheap with decent performance. Biggest issue with nexus 5 was battery life.

Was not happy with 720p screen and wanted something with better battery life after having a taste of 4000mAh so I got the k6000 pro and gave my dad the redmi.

Super happy with the k6000 pro, SoT went up from ~8 hours to ~12 hours (Just 4chan, web browsing, calls and texts, etc, light usage). Was super happy.

Then we got a puppy. My k6000 pro took some decent images of it, but overall it was mediocre. It's a battery phone, not a camera phone. I decided it was time to bump up to something with still good battery life and a much better camera.

Hence the zuk z2 pro. Good camera. Good battery life. Good camera. Good screen. Nice features. Nice price.

I know I spent excessively on 3 smartphones but I'm sticking with my zuk for a while. It's getting the same battery life as my redmi 3 pro was with a battery 3 quarters the size. Best phone I've had so far.

tl;dr I make stupid purchases.

I don't suffer buyers remorse though, because each one was an experience I'll be using when making my next smartphone purchase.
For example, I'm not going to buy another Xiaomi until they fix their unlock process.

I'm looking into the Meizu M5 for my sister since she shattered her last phone. I'm about 99% decided on it because it looks cheaper and better than the redmi 4A which is the only other decent alternative at that price that'll suit her uses.
I'll also be using this as an experience to find out how good or shit Meizu phones are.

They always use shitty Mediakek SoCs
They don't provide a way to unlock bootloader, an unlock method for m2 note was discovered through trial and error by some chinks a year later after phone's release, I heard it took like 20 phones to figure out, simply typing 'fastboot oem unlock' in fastboot mode hardbricks it. Then meizu released half-broken kernel sources which took some time to fix by the community and even to this day there's no custom ROM worth using because of bugs like low volume, camera crashing, battery % dropping after every reboot, etc.
Then there's flyme. Notifications for apps don't work right away because you need to use security app, and for every fucking app you need to stop it from closing in the background, enable autostart, add to memory cleaning whitelist and put a lock in the recent apps view.
Changing DPI (which you need to do because default 480 makes everything gigantic) messes up the layout everywhere.
Random wakelocks draining battery (notably EINT wakelock).
Even global ROMs have bloatware and if you uninstall specific system apps you can't mount /system partition as rw, making root not work properly and needing to reflash.
When screen is off wifi doesn't automatically connect to a saved network.
Multilanguage is a mess, on some languages more than half of the system is left as english untranslated.
Battery life is shit out of the box, you need root to delete files that cause cpu to run at max frequency when screen is touched, apps are switched, etc.
No android updates, m2 note still left on lollipop when modders got lineage 14.1 working on it. Meizu even delays flyme updates, first they promised stable global flyme 6 on the end of february, now they delayed it to april.

I haven't had any issues with my Mediatek phone. It even has a few roms like RR and CM13.

Not sure about the m2, but lots of unlock guides online for the new ones. A quick xda search is all it takes.

And those flyme issues seem bad enough that people would complain online about them a lot more. I guess I'll just wait and see when my m5 comes in.
