It's not seamless physically; you need an additional cable/dongle, since the iPhone comes with a USB-A cable and the Macbook only has a USB-C port.

As far as the ecosystem goes, the link between the two is tenuous at best. The integration is really based on the cloud services, not the physical ownership of both devices.

However, you can share photos/videos using AirPlay/iCloud drive
Text/Call/FaceTime using your laptop

I've had a Mac and an iPhone together for around 2 years now, and there is hardly any advantages of having both.

Plug in your phone, attacked by millions of notifications on the mac, none of which make my life easier. Sure you can use imessage on the mac, but you lose out on most of its functionality.
Also hope you like ringing on your laptop while your phone is on silent (I know this can be turned off)

Sure iTunes is on both, but as someone who just recently switched from Applemusic to spotify (even though apple music should be better given the ecosystem) I couldn't be happier without that trash software.


Actually, someone tell me what is so seamless about these products? I'm failing to see why I shouldn't go trade my 7+ for a pixel.

apple's ecosystem is unrivalled. MS doesnt have a viable phone OS and google doesnt have a viable desktop OS so they can never offer the tight level of integration apple does.
