Your sole goal is to trick stupid people into purchasing overpriced things they don't need, not to be good at fixing technology. Your manager will not care if you have to wipe a client's machine because you don't know how to fix it otherwise, and he might encourage you to do so if it's faster.

Join their home theater division instead. You'll likely never be able to be a field PC agent, but they'll hand over the keys to a bug (now Prius), econoline transit or van to just about anyone for their HT services.
Pay also starts around 17USD instead of 10USD. Half your day is driving around. Company car, laptop, cellphone, fuel/credit card.

Pretty much this. You have to upsell them on every single thing.
>PC running slow? Here's the newest HP or Dell.
>Don't forget to sell them a data backup, laptop bag, wireless mouse, extended third party protection plan, MS Office, "new computer setup", and a wireless printer.
>Also a protection plan for the printer.
>Offer to sell them upgrades to their old PC to keep it up to date
>Don't want to upgrade? Sell them a diagnostic (mandatory), data backup and OS reinstall.
>Don't forget to sell them virus protection, memory upgrade, and schedule then to bring in their other PCs for a " tune up" (find out what you can upgrade on their old shit and try to sell it to them)
