If you're not learning Angular.JS your first day, you need to get your money back. You should check out a bootcamp.

scheme is the only programming language worth learning a shit about. while everybody else is slowly killing themselves learning ruby and java, you'll actually learn how a computer works.

or you could just learn C

GOAT, have fun learning how to actually program, OP

>"learning" software *engineering*
>starts with functional languages that are primarily used in academia
I'm literally getting memed or you live outside of burgerland.

Scheme has very little practical use, which kind of makes it very useless to you. It is however a very good till in academia when teaching a course on programming language design, or even prototyping your own language.

I hear that a "software engineering" degree is basically CS for non-burgerland countries, so if this is the case, you probably are not going to be pooing in the loo.

wut

OOP

You need to learn some universal programming concepts that are applicable to all programming languages. For a beginner, any language is fine for this purpose... though it must be said that starting with Scheme seems a bit harebrained.

Starting with Scheme is pretty comfy, senpai. Pretty sure it's how MIT used to do things.

You'll probably never see Scheme used in industry though. If you just want a job coding, a bootcamp would be a better choice.
