why aren't you using Opera?
>muh botnet muh chrome reskin
everything is a botnet, better to spread yoruself out than be stuck in one google ecosystem.
and chrome is good minus the google and low functionality parts.
>>58841914
Opera is still one of the best browsers
Nobody uses it because the borderline-normies dont realise how much better they can get and keep using chrome and the muh botnets like me use firefox
>>58841914
But I do. It's great.
>>58841914
I like it. I use it a little bit every now and then to see if there are any interesting updates to it.
Unfortunately they had a (hostile?) takeover by a chinese firm that peddles adware/malware IIRC. Hope they don't get affected too much or that their developers will stand up if their parent company tries anything.
>>58841914
But I do use Opera.
Yandex >>> Opera
>>58841914
cause i'm a basic bitch and use chromium
>>58841914
>>58841914
>Why aren't you using Opera
Because it`s not FOSS
>everything is a botnet
Not true; Also not an argument.
>and chrome is good minus the google and low functionality parts
What makes a web-browser good is entirely subjective. That being said, I recommend Pale Moon.
>>58841914
Because chrome is the only browser that doesn't shit itself on my machine
>>58841914
firefox > chromium > dogshit > opera
>>58841914
cuz opera died 10 yrz ago? :D :D
This board is fucking shit, nothing but shill threads.
>>>/trash/

Opera was just open-sourced, so I might start using it again.

>>58841914
been using only opera for about 8 years and I still love it
best browser imo
Why not just use Chrome?
>>58842731
REEEEEEEEE that does not explain the new change in chrome
>>58841914
Opera is a Chrome reskin.
>>58841914
It's trash since v12. A resource hog just like Chromium
>>58841914
>why aren't you using Opera?
Because I already have Chrome installed
ffs use vivaldi
I use Firefox and Opera, 90/10
Opera seems smoother for videos/streams IMO
I'm old, it was my favorite browser back in the day. I still think it has the best name and logo

>Opera recently became aware that source code from our legacy browser engine, Presto, has appeared in some online code and file sharing sites. This code is the property of Opera Software and has been published illegally and without our permission. Opera has taken legal steps to have the source code removed from these sites.
>The snapshot of Presto engine code that has been published was used in Opera’s browsers up until 2013. This code is not the complete source code for a modern web browser and has not been maintained for several years.
>>While some of Opera’s products are not currently fully open source, Opera has great respect for the open source community.

I do
I do agree it's great. Combines the great engine of Chrome with the low RAM usage of Firefox.
But I am worried about the Chinese takeover. Data is money these days. Why would that Chinese comapny they buy it if not to harvest user browsing data?
BTW that's just suggesting a motive. Is there any concrete evidence? Has anyone caught user browsing data being sent to Chinese HQ?
>>58841914
I am using Opera. It's just called Chrome on my machine.
But whatever you wanna call it, Opera, Vivaldi, Brave, Chromium, Chrome or whatever else. I am running it.
>>58841914
It logs everything you do.
Not for serious users of those who care about privacy.
>>58841914
