Completely pointless. You'll find a disclaimer somewhere noting that it needs some case airflow too, meaning a fucking fan. So why not just have the fan on the card? They all stop at idle these days anyway and run so slowly as to be inaudible under load.

Hot air doesn't just disappear. Ultimately, for the same Temps you will need to remove the same amount of heat from case requiring fans. This just results in a need for more/better case fans and higher temperatures on the card(because the air won't move as quickly over the fins even with the added case fans.)
