Why does MPC with madVR display the incorrect framerate? No matter what the file is, it'll tell me the framerate is 60 when it clearly isn't.

I have checked the madVR settings, and I have no framerate settings on whatsoever.

VLC, for example, works just fine for some people. Think of the amateur pirate or the casual computer user who just wants to watch the videos he downloaded on the internet (or from his own phone). VLC works incredibly well on weak computers and it handles normal movie encodes good enough. Give it a 10bit video with softsubs on a subpar computer, though, and it will handle said video a lot worse than the alternatives. I'm not going to suggest just any software without knowing what the user it going to use it for.
