Arch will drop the support of 32 bit systems. Will you upgrade your rig/tower or choose other distro?

Good, I don't want only half bits of 64 bit.
>>
Hey, that's my mom!
>>
I am almost positive that whatever CPU you own, it supports 64bit.

Old Pentium 4 on my laptop. Kill me.

You people.
>>
Isnt't this photo shopped or something
>>
Her boobs are hanging in there nicely without any support whatsoever. 32bit or otherwise.

Honestly fuck arch at this point, they've already dropped i386 support so it won't run on my Pentium II anymore... and well... systemd.
>>
>>58812050
They have made questionable decisions. Like the purging of the wiki.
Total power trip.
>>
>>58810191
>Pentium 4 in a laptop
Do you have burn scars?
>>
>>58811267
They have the support of the 32-bit version of Photoshop.
>>
>>58812050
Debian still supports i386, and a dozen more architectures.
>>
>>58812165
Yeah, but everything is getting bloated these days. My Pentium II rig is really only good for running FreeDOS or a minimal FreeBSD installation. 4GB of hard drive space and 96 MB of ram will only get you so far.
>>
>>58812229
Debian minimal is smaller than Arch minimal
>>
>>58812243
At least now it is. Arch minimal used to be really small, hell even Debian has gotten to the point where it's too large for my Pentium II rig.
>>
>>58812312
>Arch minimal used to be really small
How small in MB?
>>
>>58809900
it can still multilib, right?
>>
>>58812372
Yes.
>>
>>58812372
Not making Steam amd64 exclusive was Valve's biggest mistake on the GNU/Linux platform.

They're the only major proprietary software vendor who still require i686 for parts of their programs.

Mathematica, Maple, and all the other major proprietary software for GNU/Linux is amd64.

Now Valve has to support 2 architectures forever.
>>
>>58809900
Nice dubs. If you know what I mean.
>>
My desktop I got in 2003 could run a 64 bit OS.
If your computer is that old, might as well upgrade.
>>
>>58812229
wow it's almost like you should get rid of a computer that costs more to run in a month than it's worth!
>>
>>58812390
I assume it is for the wrappers required by the games. No reason to make the steam client itself 32-bit tho. They did the same on OS X.
>>
>>58809925
can I have sex with your mom? I want to suckle on her titties
>>
>>58812675
>TFW power bill is covered in rent
Meh fuck it, if it can still play Doom II then I'm happy. I'd be more than willing to get rid of it for some System 360 equipment though.
>>
>>58809900
those are big boobs
>>
>>58812839
They could have required all games to be amd64, when they were in the unique position.

Multilib generally works, but requires extra work by maintainers, and sometimes breaks.
For instance ALSA has problems mixing i386 and amd64 sound sources out of the box.

Why would that be?
>>
>>58813272
The game makers are also their customers, so they have to find a middle ground.
