If you use certain features of rockbox, then there isn't really an equivalent to the SanDisk Clip Zip for the same price.

If you don't, then any cheapass mp3 player.

While I can't think of any specific features I depended on with rockbox I'm sure once I start using anything else those features that I depend on will become more and more apparent.

Ruizu x02 is <$20 and works fine if you just want a basic player that takes microSD.

Also used clip zips online start at $50 on ebay. I rec you get a manufacturer refurbished one at ~$70 since it's more likely to have a fresh battery in it.

Speaking of batteries, is there a way to replace the batteries in the clip zip?
Has someone done a guide or anything like that, I'm pretty bad with hardware but I can do the basics like soldering and what not.
