Hey /g/
I want to learn some basic stuff about programming microcontrollers and basic ee and programming stuff with GPIO.
I have Raspberrypi B+ right now and I am using ds18b20 to check temperature on boiler that is in basement, I was planning also to set srvo to control amount of air but its not going to happen any time soon.
I have free month and I decided that it would be a good time to learn some basic shit.
I am going to buy breadboard + wires + 2x8 lcdscreen, few buttons, digital barometer.
I also have few mini motors MT78 1.2V.
Now are there any more advenced project for new friend that you could advise me to build?
I was thinking about building simple drone, but after small research it turned out that I would have to invest at least 200-300$ and I am out of money atm.
bumperino
bumping for you anon, I don't deal with arduinos and shit but it's pretty interesting
grab an arduino uno, using the IDE is pretty straightforward and you can pop the microcontroller out so you don't need to use the whole arduino for a project. Once you've programmed it you can wire it into your project and buy another chip.
It's a pretty decent solution. I'm no expert but I believe if you want to program one naked it's a much bigger deal than just wiring the legs up to your pi.
go learn ansi c
buy like 10 atmega 328s (328p, 328pb, etc)
buy some generic electronics for autismos kit with wires and breadboards and leds or whatever
buy/make an avr isp or use a serial/parallel port
make the avrs do shit
arduinos are retarded

programming a 'naked' avr is easy, just go read atmel's pdfs on hardware design and the datasheets.
if you aren't prepared to do that, you shouldn't be trying to do electronics.
also, hold off on using raspberry pis for electronics (unless you make the avr programmer with one), you'll just feel impoverished when you move to an actual microcontroller and have to use something lower level than fucking python.

I would say that using RPI gives you more freedom if you are focused on fast results. For example, if you are using Arduino you will have to buy and code wifi shield if you want wireless connection.
If you want to build simple car with camera you can use RPI and set server + write app for android that will control car + stream video.
Pretty dope desu

I'd say follow a tutorial on the youtube.com maybe steal some books on the illegal torrent site and then read your ill gotten books for the knowledge they contain. Apply that knowledge to your relevant hardware. As you become more relaxed about this technology you may wish to go more advanced. Good luck.
