Alright /g/, I've been using PHP for a while now. I fucking hate this shit-tier language. I've looked into some things like ruby on rails, django etc. and they're all absolute shit aswell. So I ask you, what's a simple/fast-to-write language I can use for back end like PHP? I would prefer something that can function in a single file like php, I don't want to use some big ass framework.
Onion. Which is a C based web framework.

Perl cgi

java with spring
spring boot makes you setup your application quickly thanks to auto configuration
it's a big ass framework tho

JavaScript. Node is the future. It's also one of the fastest ones.

Node.js is a shit-tier platform and is already being replaced with hype for languages like Go and Elixir.
Node is not the future

PHP is awful except it works. It gets projects done rather than getting stuck in pretty diagram or uncertainty hell. Sometimes the technical debt is enormous but I mentally write that off as job security and keep my eyes open for something better.

These were before node, therefore literally antique

don't fall for the js meme. JS for your back end is laughable.
