Maybe I need to add that I have been out of the android modding scene for a few years, so I am still confused about what's exectly going on about this supersu issue and it doesn't help that the app still very popular on xda.

What should I use then?

There are 2 superuser apps in fdroid, but I don't know how to install either of them.
