I've noticed this for the past week or so.

It's nothing to do with getting normalfags top fuck off. Nothing to know, nothing that can fix it. Do not look at your URL addresses.

gookmoot is being a big jew and is either:

-intentionally crippling speed to get people to buy passes
-not spending enough money to get the resources to make the site fast

Essentially: less money into 4chan means more into gookmoot's pockets

Install 4chan X and problem solved.
>>
>>58789274
I'm guessing caching is hard for a site like 4chan, so every request has to travel all the way from your shitty house to the server.

works super fast if you have a 4chan pass
>>

Not true.
>>
>>58789419
It doesn't though.
It's just that is2.4chan.org is garbage.
I need to get an addon which replaces all of those links to is.4chan.org/
>>
>>58789432
4chanX:

Is this it?

I don't want to install that bloat.
I'm probably just going to write a simple greasemonkey script.

How do you get that kind of internet NZ friend? Considering moving there for a top job.

Is that to your home or work?

lolno
>>
>>58789274

They *sometimes* take an eternity to load. And sometimes I click the three images below and they all load straight away. It's like there's something fucked around which server your request lands on.

$ cat /etc/hosts | grep 4chan
192.99.148.101 is2.4chan.org

It didn't even take long to write though:
// ==UserScript==
// @name is2 is shit
// @namespace https://localhost
// @description Replaces slow 4chan image links
// @include https://boards.4chan.org/*
// @version 1
// @grant none
// ==/UserScript==
var imgs = Array.from(document.getElementsByClassName('file'));
imgs.forEach(img => {
var links = Array.from(img.getElementsByTagName('a'));
links.forEach(link => {
var repl = link.getAttribute('href').replace(/is[0-9]?\.4chan\.org/, 'i.4cdn.org');
link.setAttribute('href', repl);
});
})

$ echo "$(ping -c 1 is.4chan.org | gawk -F'[()]' '/PING/{print $2}') is2.4chan.org" | sudo tee -a /etc/hosts

Make sure that works when using the "Update" links.

// ==UserScript==
// @name is.4chan.org to i.4cdn.org
// @namespace
// @include *://boards.4chan.org/*
// @version 1
// @grant none
// ==/UserScript==

function fix(n) {
[...n.querySelectorAll('a[href^="//is.4chan.org/"]')].forEach(a => a.hostname = 'i.4cdn.org');
[...n.querySelectorAll('a[href^="//is2.4chan.org/"]')].forEach(a => a.hostname = 'i.4cdn.org');
}
fix(document);
new MutationObserver(function (ms) {
ms.forEach(function(m) {
[...m.addedNodes].forEach(fix);
});
}).observe(document.querySelector('.thread'), {childList: true});

This works perfectly with greasemonkey

On Windows you can use host names in the hosts file as well, so
i.4cdn.org is2.4chan.org

works
>>
>>58791254
Or use tcpcrypt instead. it is 25 times faster than SSL and filters off retards.

I'm pretty sure the download speed per image/webm is throttled. If I go into an image-heavy thread and expand everything, all the pictures open up at once and load up at pretty much the same speed they do when opened individually. So I can only assume there's a bandwidth limit per image/webm request, but not for all the requests coming from a single user.

Really? Comcast is going to MITM attack and DPI what I'm typing and what images I'm downloading?

Because all they get is 4chan's IP address and image server IP address.

My DNS requests are 3rd party and encrypted.

With http, they can literally see images you download, what you type and what you read.
