Well, it technically is open source because there was a massive leak back in 2008 or 2009 where we all learned that moot can't program for shit.

However, it being free as in freedom or not is irrelevant. I'm not running any non-free code on my own system, I'm simply interacting with a server. The manner in which I'm doing so is completely open and free.

Reddit is fully free and open source... really gets the old niggin' joggin'.

4chan is a webapp and it allows text mode or html5 without java

therefore its not running anything propriatary on my machine

it doesnt require me to sign up with a de-anon email

it doesnt make me install anything to run

You need to learn the difference between network services and programs that run on my machine. 4chan does not need to run on my machine so that I can access it.
