>spend hours installing LFS and making custom buildscripts
>can't switch to an easy distro as all the time on LFS would be wasted
>boot windows10

Yep, many have learned this lesson.

if only it was as easy as using arch

I fixed the issue by getting binary packages of heavy shit like chrome/thunderbird/virtualbox
your time isnt wasted brother.
linux is the future and you now have a much deeper understanding of the underlaying layers then an average ubuntu user
you will be able to troubleshoot and tailor any distro to your liking and if you wish to continue down your path you could :) no losses are made.
reminder: average people today spend their time on social media or watch tv/stream/game
id personally keep at it because my own LFS experiemental distro has since evolved as i progressed and met blockades in my line of work and its adapted and now i use it for my business OS and i have multiple iterations that i base off this for certain devices or architectures

Arch is a good lesson to learn, though. Not in the sense of it wasting your time, but in terms of how much you get out of putting time in. It can be worth it, depending on your application. People don't understand this.
