If you live near a forest, it doesn't even need to be social, there's lots of interesting stuff you can find by exploring!

My city has forest all around it (aside from the highway in, and the ocean), and I found a couple of interesting things.
A cluster of several huge trees, with several kaka (an endangered species reintroduced to the area in 2002, pretty much kea but smaller and dumber, and flocks of them sometimes contain kea); and also a large fallen tree which still stands on its branches, which along with another tree forms a sort of a 3-step stepladder.
