What's the point of using a distro like Ubuntu, Manjaro etc (a distro based on another distro) when you can just use the original?

Default packages, ease of installation, community, package support and maybe stability, depending on the distro.

Can't you just achieve the same results by installing the same packages from said distro?
>>
>>58759898
maybe because BSD only runs on the dev's 15 year old thinkpads?

Been thinking of using Debian but I have issue with the packages on Stable being ancient. Is Testing really safe to use?

why don't you test it out?
>>
>>58759907
Yes. But it's more of a quality of life issue then. I can install Ubuntu which has some packages and settings configured by default without much hassle.
>>
>>58759910
Apparently all Mac users do.
>>
>>58759777
i use manjaro because i don't want to configure arch
