Is it better than Mitsubishi?

it has much lower contrast ratio, which I guess is an important feature, right?

The best way to shop for a used projector is to pick a few projectors in your resolution/lumen range. Then search for new OEM bulbs for those projectors.
Once you have a bulb, then just buy a high hour or burnt out bulb one for cheap.
I've been using this method since the days of 800x600 projectors.
Alternatively, you can just buy chink bulbs for $30 which sometimes require the bulb housing to be swapped - but is pretty easy to do.
I tend to favor Sony projectors (as I leave mine in the office on for weeks at a time - no burn in/flicker issues).
The Sony VPL-FE40 can be had for $200'ish used and is 4000 lumens and 1400 x 1050. Theres even one on ebay for $75 w/ a blown bulb.

>1400x1050
But doesn't this resolution suck? It's SXGA
FullHD - 1080p is so much better
there seems to be one for:

~400$ not sure if it's better than epson 8350, which is 409$
BenQ w1070/HT2050
Might be a little over $600 depending on what you go with.

If you really want native HD for vidya/1080p rips or just want a 16:9 screen vs shining shit on a wall .... then you should move up to the Sony VW10/VW40/VW50/etc
The FE40 is a good deal at $200 - not at $400+ which is about VW10/VW40 prices.
This FE40 projector is more business oriented, so 4:3 and higher lumens. My use case is just leaving the projector on 12hrs/day playing movies and webcam streams while I work on my main monitor/laptop.
All my media comes from bittorrent, so 720p vertical equivalent when in 16:9 is fine for me.

so Sony VPL-FE40 is worse in terms of video quality than Epson 8350, isn't it?
I'm really inclined towards 3d FULL HD Optoma
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HQCF6R6/ref=psdc_300334_t1_B00MK39P92
It has 23000:1 contrast ratio
but is Epson 8350 better than Optoma?

If you're going DLP don't go Optoma. Most of their projectors use a CMYRGB color wheel and it fucks with color accuracy. Get the BenQ, it's worth it.
