Z270 is also partially a SCAM because you can just flash Z170 boards and be done with it.
Ryzen's coming in March, if you can finish the wait, do so. If you have to give up, go direct for Skylake. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

If you don't overclock, Kaby is a better deal, just get the lower model: I wanted to get a i5 6500 but a i5 7400 is almost as good (really really close) and costs around 20$ less, same goes for i5 6600 vs 7500 (actually, the 7500 is better).
If anything, a H2xx mobo might be more expensive than a H1xx, but most H1xx will probably support Kaby Lake with a firmware update (do check before purchasing, though).
