Linux, honestly. Just not for me. Gave multiple distributions a lot of chances, but never worked out. I like Fedora and Mangaro the most if anyone cares.

SSD was worth it, but it was overrated. I don't regret it, but I don't do much to make it THAT big of a difference compared to the price, but I'd rather have it than not. At least it's silent.

Can't think of anything else.

I don't play video games so 10 GB is enough for me. It's 2+2+2+4 if you're wondering. Even if I force everything to run at once, it's nowhere near 10. 8 at most.

It is NEET to be able to keep Google Chrome running and open as many tabs as I want without worrying, though. I just like the extra room for failure and security. I have swap file and all that disabled too.

I have 24 because my motherboard only supports up to that much, otherwise I'd be using 32 or more. It's come in handy for virtual machines but more importantly as a disk cache + ram drive, I do a ton of tasks that benefit from being in memory (lots of reads, moves, and writes on temporary data) and it's faster than an ssd so that's nice.

First to answer your question about the amount of ram for your needs. For photography I doubt you would need 16 gb of ram if that is what you like to do, however it is not that expensive, and will speed up your workflow so I would say it is still a good investment.

What type of garbage build are you using that it's so noisy? I have a be quiet! PSU, cooler master CPU cooler, and 3 case fans. It hardly makes any noise at all. I got the S340 Elite and the H60 AIO cooler because of the glass side panel and looks and I'm kind of regretting it. The system itself would be nearly silent except for the cooler. I think I'd rather have a nearly quite system than the aesthetics of a water cooler.
