Unfortunately Microsoft does not care about windows 7 in a good way and new CPUs will not work properly.
>>

Well, from my experience Intel's Skylake and KabyLake CPUs work perfectly with 7, so..

Well, they work. You can find drivers either on laptop's manufacturer website or Intel.

Laptos do not sell windows 7 anymore and they are finishing their support soon

And what stops you from installing it?

Lack of security patches from the upstream.
Windows 7 is a sinking ship and you cannot do anything (forking) about it.

They're disabled since September 2016, all working fine.

Still at 10. It's super comfy after you wrestle back the control from the botnet.
>>

Explain this. How is it comfy? Data collection isnt even an argument given edge & chrome both collect shit loads of user data. What do you find comfy?
>>

Slackware is not built by a community, it is an one man distro, he can be found here:

or http://www.slackware.com/support/ if you are too paranoid to click the link above.

been on win10 ever since, my only complaint is the fact that they fuck with the theme engine on every major update so you have to download themes for YOUR specific version of win10, which is pretty aids.

That's a really hard question since I'm talking personal opinions here, but I'll try to formulate the best answer I can:

Many internal workings are superior to those of Windows 7 (memory management, search indexing to name a few).
I have full control of the PC as expected. Nothing is missing/restricted. Customizable to exactly the degree I need.

Very smooth to use since I can disable every single service/application I don't use and make 1-click access to everything I need.
Volume slider overlay (very useful with keyboard-controlled volume). Impeccable security when coupled with common sense.
Etc. etc.

tl;dr: it does everything I need and can do everything I may potentially need in the future while allowing maximum level of comfiness through customization.

Also please don't attack me for my tastes. I'm not defending windows here or anything. All I'm saying is that it's just right for me.

I learned Ubuntu earlier before but I never understood it as much as I did recently. Also with Mac, I didn't get the opportunity to learn it until I owned two of them. And honestly, they were decent. I don't suck their dick or anything. They're aesthetically pleasing but other than that, they're alright. Not worth the price at all.

For some reason, Manjaro has been kinder to me than any *buntu ever was. Automatic driver installation, pacman and AUR, Arch Wiki doesn't need a Debian interpretation. Everything just fucking works, though I've heard some people who have had issues with the distro.
