I'm getting a new PC. I'm buying all the parts now, but I'm wondering about the GPU. I'm considering one of the following scenarios:
>buy a GTX 1070 or 1080
>stick my old GTX 480 housefire edition into it and wait for Vega
What would you do, considering that I'm not likely to replace the GPU anytime soon after buying a new one?

research the good 1070s that you want, wait for a sale and pick one up.
or if you're going to wait for vega, might as well pick up a fury for 240 when it's on sale or a xfx 480 gtr

if windows >amd
anything else >nvidia
Wait for Vega

Buy a 480 for the sheer memes
>yeah I upgraded my 480 to a 480

EIGHT PERCENT

If you're just doing 1080p/144hz or 1440p/60hz the 1070 or 1080 will be good for at least a few years
>people are masturbing to a card that cannot even beat an R9 390 on a regular basis and is barely faster than a GTX970 with 3,5GB meme
because of
>muuh DX12 futureproof performance
>muuuh 8GB
Ahahahaha
By the time games that are solely based on DX12 API are released, this card is not even good enough for 1080p high settings anymore.
