Is this the most exciting thing to happen to the CPU market since the i5-2500k? It's amazing that Intel fucked up the unlocked Core i3 so bad that a $65 Pentium with Hyper-threading is the budget king.

These posts will create price inflation

but actually the g4564 sounds really good

No.

Almost. I still find it hilarious.

>VT-x
>VT-d
>Force ECC support in Linux kernel
>No hyperthreading nonsense for applications which need raw single threading throughput
Pretty based CPU.

Will never forgive them for not putting out a 4th gen Pentium with VT-d support, though.
It loses out on about 10% IPC compared to Devil's Canyon but has what I want in a CPU.

The Pentium g3258 Anniversary edition was pretty good for it's time. It's nice to have a <$100 chip that I feel good about recommending to friends without having to explain overclocking.

G4560+1050Ti would make some great "e-sports" boxes for Overwatch and LoL.

I'm more excited for AMD to not fuck up this time around
>>
>>58731098
That would be neat, but at least this is a thing that is already out. We don't even know what AMD pricing will look like.

I actually have a Pentium 4 630 which is still Bretty Gud today

3 GHz hyperthreaded.. only one core, and even with >muh netburst it seems to have enough power for regular shit like web browsing

It can even decode 720p Hi10 most of the time
>>
>>58731238
Weren't those capable of 5Ghz on water?
>>
>>58730893
Since when is it the i5-2500k?
Got the pentium g3258 aand been rocking the shit for 4 yrs now running practically every game @ full details n shit.
>>

>Since when is it the i5-2500k?

Because people are still using them in upper mid-tier rigs to this day. Oh wow, its 5% slower than Sky/Kabylake.
>>
It's another G3258 I hope. That was a good processor until intel realised they'd fucked up and accidentally released a decent value product
>>
its definitely the least boring kaby lake chip.
