I know that feel OP, I went through 5 MG279Q to finally get one without too much backlight bleeding and a week after I realized it had a dead pixel in the bottom right corner.

The asus and the are the only monitors using this panel as far as I know. The others are the gaysync ones. I have an MG279q and it doesn't have any problems at all, very evenly lit etc. You can give it a shot bro. Also there's no cheap 1440p alternatives.
