Bought a laptop from Thinkpenguin. They set up Trisquel for me, and no tweaking was needed on my part. Everything just werked.

All linux distros are the same. They essentially all run on X, Alsa, network-manager and grub. You can swap file managers, display managers and window managers between them. What differentiates them is package management system and repositories. That is all there is to Linux.

In terms of performance and driver output, it is inferior to Windows in every aspect. Screen tearing, near deaf audio, pathetic fps in games and horrible support for formatting usb drivers and managing eternal storage.

Windows is the only usable OS that runs across platforms. MacOS is locked down to Apple only hardware.
