So how long do you guys hold onto phones before updating them?
I'm still rockin this thing since 2013-ish and It works pretty well, albeit I mostly use it for web browsing, messaging, and the occasional app.
I've been perusing hard for a new phone and I've narrowed it down to the OP3T or the Axon-7, main problem is the OP3T's 128gig version is always sold out and I really want to start using my phone as a heavy media device.

Til i get drunk and leave them at the pub
I still have my note 3 from mid 2014. I plan on using it until the screen dies or becomes unusable/unreadable.

Till I manage to break it or the hardware gets so old that using it isn't bearable anymore.
Had the HTC hd2. Then the Sony Xperia Z which I'm still using.
Using it for browsing, musik, chatting, calling, mailing.
Only Photos suck since I somehow managed to get dust into the lens. Still good for occasionally pics. When I want to make real photos I use my digi cam anyways.

Just get something with an SD card slot. Internal storage is pointless after 32 GB or so.
As long as they function well enough, but I try to hold on to a phone for at least 2 years, preferably more

4 year old S3 running lineage OS reporting. Only had to replace battery like half a year ago. Still perfect phone for my needs
I upgrade once a year.
I can upgrade up to 3 times a year.
I've had a flip phone for six years, I hold on to it because the battery lasts ten days which is literally the only spec I care for.

you /mobile/ fags are weird. I ride my hardware until it dies. I don't develop for mobile and I don't really use mine for anything but calling my anime grills and looking at email.
Once the old one breaks or gets too slow to be useable

well the hardwares fine but being on this old of software can be a bit annoying sometimes, it really does get sluggish

I've had my S5 for a few years and I don't have any plans to upgrade it. It's kind of slow but I'm not about to spend several hundred dollars on a newer one.

Same. I've been using my SIII till early this last year cause I dropped it on gravel, and cracked the screen. oops. I could still use it, it was just 2 line cracks, but I dont want to appear poor.
