Why do people think the unix file system is good?
I mean it would be good.. if there were any standards.
There's no standards for what program uses what configuration file or where it's located or even what sub-directory it's in. It's such an absolute clusterfuck.

Sounds like you'd get lost in a straight hallway with one door on each end.

Because it's not bad

unix fs is more like a labyrinth at this point. im sure it was great in 1990 when there was nothing on your system.
having to read the documentation of every single piece of software to figure out where the fuck the configuration file is located isnt what i would consider good.

and which one takes precedent over the other since theres 3 different files
>>58705220
wouldn't that be more of a fault with software developers not being consistent?

its the fault of the entire community. every single problem with nix can be traced to fragmentation.
liberalism is shit.
