>Another day wasted on 4chan
>Promised myself I'd learn Python or web development in 2017 because they seem easy enough
>haven't even started
How did you guys motivate yourselves to start learning?

Use a host file to block the google captcha and stop wasting time here whining when you could be practicing.
You go to school to learn
>>58697542
Some people will have more motivation to start if they invested in some way. Buy a beginner text book and a raspberry pi or something and start a fun project that involves python and web dev. Once you have some basic programming skills it becomes enjoyable.
just start doing it, do something, and once you have started you will continue to do so.
>python
your time will go to waste anyway
learn php instead

Life. The realisation that I want to procreate.
Seriously, that's the only reason I do this programming shit. I fucking hate it. But it pays the bills, and gives me a chance to meet a girl and raise a family.
download a time tracking app which uses pomodoro technique or something similar and motivate yourself, im currently at 4 hours daily of studying/working, and only couple of months ago I would masturbate to tranny porn whole day...

PHP is a waste of time.
Learn Javascript and become a NodeJS hipster.
>>58697542
Why would you want to learn python when you can learn malbolge which is much better and easier to learn?
>>58697942
but js is frontend

nope, sorry, it doesn't
>>58697542
Technically speaking, you shouldn't even take advice from us. How we have that much interest to spend that much time on this garbage site with those lowlifes is beyond me.
>>58697932
>doing all this unnecessary shit
Never gonna make it bruh
>>58697932
will this actually help me?
>>58697542
Because subconsciously you knew learning Python and webdev would not get you any job?
Honestly, just save some money and do a second bachelor degree if you want to do the career change. Or if you're a student, focus on doing your courses instead of webdev BS.
Nevertheless, the best way to start doing the work is by using a timer.
Set it to 10 mins. Do the work for 10 mins, chances are most of your resistance will be gone and you will not stop after 10 mins. Inline with waitbutwhy's take on procrastination. The hard part is to start.

How can I make money teaching programming online?
>>58698003
>nope, sorry, it doesn't
Yes, actually, it does. I make money from programming. It is not my first choice of job but it pays my bills. I hope to do something better in the future but for now this is my best way of earning money.
Without money, I can't take girls out. Not to mention they don't respect layabout NEETs with no job.
So yeah, it does give me a chance to meet girls and procreate. Not *at work*. That's not what I was saying. What I am saying is that I need money to attract girls. You can't attract girls if you're jobless. Unless you become a criminal. But I can't be fucked with that. Too much effort.
>>58698009
of course man, but first you have to set your priorities, without proper motivation you would just blankly stare at whatever you're doing. It is good and rewarding feeling when you see how much time you spent working on something after a hard day. I want to go even further but can't because of my classes
OP, realize you won't do shit, stop flagellating yourself and enjoy life.
>>58698079
why would i accept being a loser? that's retarded
>>58698145
You're experiencing denial. Some people are losers. Just the fact of life.

>>58698145
He's not saying be a loser. But also don't flagellate yourself.
Get a job that you want to do. If you don't want to do programming then don't do it. Do something else. Go and work in a shop. Or a factory. I've worked those jobs and they're fun. You probably don't want to do them forever but they will teach you very valuable skills.
Do a job that you want to do. As he says, enjoy life. Do what is best for yourself. Motivate yourself to get a job *in general*.

>Yes, actually, it does.
Not that it makes a difference in your case.

Heres how you do it in a few easy step:
>what do I enjoy doing
>what is it about it that really gets me off
>Is this thing a field?
I browse the circle jerk that is the code golf and programming puzzles part of stack exchange be because I found I'm borderline autistic when puzzles are involved.
You even mention the P word and I'm frothing at the mouth in an assburgers fueled rage.
I'm now learning about algorithms and parallel computing just because my programs don't run as fast as some13 year old on the Internet.
Seriously, ask yourself if you really want. You don't need motivation from others when you know what you want.
If you can't figure it out, please just an hero. Cleanse this board of another useless frog poster.
>>58697542
why dont you start with something easier like the Processing sublanguage
>>58698145
See? That's self-flagellation and it does NOTHING to help you move in whatever direction you're trying to go.
