I Followed the steps and now I'm getting a 404 error when I try to hit my site. when I went to the website that lets-encrypt gave me to check if the certificate was working it all checked out.

the exact error im getting is.

The requested URL / was not found on this server.
>>
>>58695443
then you fucked up your server config.
>>
this was the file added to the sites-available folder. Id don't see anything that might mess with my config here I changed the website url to $site-name here just to not leak any sensitive info.

<IfModule mod_ssl.c>
<VirtualHost *:443>
ServerName $site-name
DocumentRoot /var/www/$folder/public
ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log
LogLevel warn
CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined
SSLCertificateFile /etc/letsencrypt/live/$site-name-0001/fullchain.pem
SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/letsencrypt/live/$site-name-0001/privkey.pem
Include /etc/letsencrypt/options-ssl-apache.conf
</VirtualHost>
</IfModule>

This is the old config that still works on my local machine and isnt giving a 404.
<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName $site-name
DocumentRoot /var/www/$folder/public

<Directory />

How do URLs work?

If we're talking about conventional URLs, the casing of letters doesn't matter, as long as the spelling is correct.
So if you type
>youtube.com
>Youtube.com
>YouTube.com
>yOuTuBe.CoM
They all take you to the same site.

But that's not the case for artificially shortened URLs, like tinyurl or bitly. In those URLs, the casing of the letters actually matter. If you get it wrong, then you end up on a different site.

How does this shit work? Why does it work one way, but not the other? In the end, they're all URLs.

This is handled by the HTTP Server and the DNS.
If it resolves a domain (YouPorn.com) the capitalizing doesn't matter, but if you make a GET request (for example GET /porn/webm159871.mp4) it depends on the configuration of the webserver.

QUESTION*****

I need to run a bunch of VM's, at least 10 on my laptop and control each one with a single mouse and keyboard, and I want the mouse movement to happen simultaneously on all 10 VM's at once. What kind of software would I need to accomplish this???

Yes. There was kind of a "bit war" going on in game consoles for a while, the SNES and Genesis being 16-bit was hyped as fuck at the time for example. Nintendo 64 was just kind of catching the tail end of that.

Why do BDSM people call vambraces gauntlets?

Even with the /#top tag in the URL, every 4chan board refresh sends me to the bottom of the page.
No big deal. But it also locks me there and holds me there and sends me back there every time I attempt to scroll up, until all the ads at the bottom of the page are loaded and/or I accidentally click one.
It basically locks me at the bottom of the page for 20 seconds.

Is this a js script fuck up or forced advertising? It causes me to click the ads hundreds of times per day and have to scroll to the top of the entire board EVERY refresh.

What is going on? Is this an intentional Japanese moot money making gimmick or a legitimate error?
What is the fix? Android 2/browser.
>>
>>58699959
yeah, it's trivial. but on a few boards, 15 minutes with no replies = dead thread. just wondered if it was global.
>>
>>58700042
Nobody is going to punish you for bumping a thread that was on the last page. Only time people might get a bit annoyed with you is if you do it repeatedly.

Skyrim is a 5 year old game. I do that at 1440p with a 1060.

at 1080p60 you'll be fine for at least two years. Buy a new monitor if you want a better graphics card.
>>58701501
Sort of. Country? I assume that their router is a modem+router combo. You can usually just plug a new router into any of the ports and then use the new router's ethernet and wifi. For better performance, you can put the ISP device into "bridged mode," and login to your ISP using the new router.

Most ISPs in the US will rent you one of these modem units for a monthly fee, and they're usually pretty shit. But you can't just replace it with a router.
>>
>>58701577
Yeah, that's what I figured. Just connect my new router to the old router to avoid breaching any EULA if ever.
I'll do this because my current ISP router is acting up and cutting connections sometimes (i.e. stuck at loading page - specially at mobile apps like facebook, messenger, games etc)
>>
>>58701577
>bridged mode
where should I configure this? on the old router on the new one?
so the flow is like this

Internet --- ISP Router --- New Router --- Me
>>
>>58701637
It might not fix your problem on its own. Look up your modem's model number and bridging it, that will almost certainly give you good results.
>>58701654
>on the old router or the new one?
both.
>Internet --- ISP Router --- New Router --- Me
Yeah, but in bridged mode, the ISP "router" is only acting as a modem.

Just look up "bridged mode <your modem model number>"

All new CPUs are knot supported by 10 unless you are using linux or something other than windows.

So is there a reliable way to shut down everything wrong with 10 without breaking the OS's functionality?

at least I think, I am not american and english is my second language

check out reddit and /r/sysadmin for some taste

and networking class should have not been at all about programing, like none
if you enjoy being code monkey that gets told what to make to what specification in what time then its a different degree

anyway, you should really start switching to linux, even if you would be MS certified sysadmin, the tinkering with another OS will give you great insight in all of system managments
/r/linuxadmin Plus Linux Sysadmins are payed more, though not as many positions as windows ones, since every smaller to mid level company runs on active directory

also you might be in to networking, also very lucrative

Well, depending on what you mean by functionality. As far as I know you'll always have to keep the app bullshit around if you want to use the start menu and the control panel, the most you can do is disable the telemetry/update services. There are a few scripts/programs that do it for you if you're lazy.
>>
>>58702816
I heard they reactivate after you disable them...

I am not lazy, though I do not wish to fight an essential system for dominance every step of the way. I read cortana uses around *20% of the CPUs resources at any given time too.

Why hasn't someone created a system which works and has no undesirable features???

Is that too much to ask for, damn.

So it's 10 or nothing at this point?

>>58702861
They do, on every update. There's also a bunch of Task Scheduler shit that re-enables everything they want as part of "maintenance" routines. You can disable both of those things altogether, with the obvious side effect of not being able to install updates or run scheduled tasks. Cortana has an "off" setting that causes it to turn into an offline search box, you can disable it further by manually going into the services again and disabling the search indexing, that might fix the CPU issue. There's a third component still which is the app framework/subsystem running in the background, but disabling that also breaks the start menu, the control panel and some other things, so it's impractical without using a replacement for all of them.

>Why hasn't someone created a system which works and has no undesirable features???
Because we can't have nice things.

Also, again, you could just use Windows 7. I'm honestly not sure myself what would happen if you just installed it on a Kaby Lake CPU or used hardware that only has Windows 10 drivers, all that's been said officially is that it's "not supported", meaning that it might work without any issues whatsoever, they just don't provide customer support for it. The OS itself will be kept up to date for a few more years, and I haven't yet come across any piece of hardware or software that outright requires Windows 10 to function. That's with any DAW, the entire Adobe and Autodesk suite, Office/VS 2016, USB devices, etc. The only thing I can think of is Illustrator's GPU acceleration requiring you to be on Windows 8 for some bizarre reason, but that's about it.

Around 500€
Might spend more if you convince me.
For an example I looked up
Intel Core i5-6600K 3,5 GHz LGA1151
It's about 300€ and a LGA1151 socket mobo for like 150€.

That's pretty cheap and I feel like it's good enough of an upgrade, but I don't know much about hardware.

I'd love to just drop money on the table and walk away with the biggest numbers, but I'm not that rich.

LGA2011-3 parts seem pretty expensive so I'm looking at lga1151 parts.

Or I could buy AMD I mean I really don't know, I just want some processing power :D

You should always let your mobo control your fans unless you got some case with built in fan controlers.

LGA-2011 boards are more expensive because they aren't produced anymore compared to newer boards like Z270s. You can use pcpartpicker to check compatibility and check prices.

of course they are, both haswell-e (5820k-5960x) and broadwell-e (6700k-6950x) are on the same socket and chipset, 2011-v3 x99

2011-v3 are expensive because they target enthusiast cpus and get a decent premium added to them just for that reason alone

My CPU is a quad-core mobile i7, which I installed. It generally runs between 55 and high 60s (Celsius) depending on the load. It has gone higher, but cooling seems pretty efficient, knocking it back down once fans kick on. That means nothing. You can run mobile CPUs outside laptops.

Reason I asked to confirm that is because you must be some kind of special to upgrade to an i7 in a laptop, and thing that the stock cooler designed for an i3, or i5 can handle an i7.

Cooling would be fucked unless you're using something that doesn't generate too much heat, like a Raspberry Pi or an underclocked SBC.

You also wouldn't be able to use it while it's encased in concrete. I don't know how a wireless display would work, and you wouldn't be able to charge or power it either.

Anyways, yes, it is. Try to power it on every once in a while so the hard drive doesn't get fucked.

It took me a while (weeks or even months) to get adjusted to 27 inch screen.
To 24 or less its much faster imo.
>>
>>58712068
No. It's just we get a lot of people on here who assume most things have root, and are super surprised when they don't. I never buy hardware unless I've looked first, and I never take an update unless I'm sure it won't make my phone unrootable in the future. Does your phone also go by the name "galaxy v", "galaxy J3 2016" or "SM-J320H"?
>>
>>58712062
this is a legacy feature, it wont make a difference on modern HDs.
and you would have to format it and start over anyway. keep it default.

So I have been trying to install Arch on a win7 machine following this guide: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/USB_flash_installation_media#In_Windows_2

and I have gotten to the point where I have to run
>win32\syslinux.exe -d /arch/boot/syslinux -i -a -m X:

and I am getting this error, what the fuck do i do?
>>
>>58712207
Model in the settings says
>SM-J320V
if that's what you're looking for, and the phone itself is on version 6.0.1 it says.
>>
Fuck it. If you have a macbook, pls respond

Gun to your head, if you were forced to purchase a hipster fruitbook pro, would you get the current 13 inch touchbar model, or the 2015 15 inch?
>>
>>58712236
Nigga, just use rufus and then reboot and boot the liveusb
What are you even doing

What's the deal with ryzen?
I haven't been looking on the news about it, is it going to be good?

When will VR go away?

Why can't people just look at a fucking monitor and be happy until AR.

AMD only hope to get back into the CPU market.

>>58712332
Because its good.

Expensive as fuck and not worth it but good.
AR will be just as expensive if not more.
>>
wtf is a "non-transitioning trans man"?
>>
>>58712332

Because VR has its place with simulation games, such as racing sims. It will never fully go away.

Plus Cuckerberg and Gay-Ben have invested a lot in it.
>>
>>58712339
> AMD only hope to get back into the CPU market.
I understand that.
But what about its capabilities and a price?
I haven't been checking on that, that's why I am asking.
>>
>>58712335
Where exactly in your highlighted portion does it say not to use rufus?
>>
>>58712356
There is no info about it yet, nobody knows.

Otherwise we would be talking about it more.
Wait till its released for some real information.

They will probably be just an alternative to I5s for cheaper.
Maybe not, nobody knows.

it says to uncheck writing the ISO to the usb. Also, there are a lot of other instructions after that that don';t involve just rebooting and booting from the drive

burn it using rufus and fucking reboot
thats it

A trap is a dude who looks like and dresses like a girl for the purposes of tricking or "trapping" straight dudes into finding them attractive.

I want Reddit to leave.

Sorry to shit up your thread with /v/ shit if this isn't common on /g/, but give me your ideal specs for a gaming PC priced between £400-600 ($500-750). Obviously this isn't going to be a powerhouse but something that is adequate.

This is an even dumber question: What differentiates a gaming PC from a regular high-end PC? If I had to conduct video editing or some other hardware intensive process, is there a setup that would be more optimised for the job than a computer labelled as "gaming" or is "gaming PC" just shorthand for a powerful computer?

>>58712347
either someone post-op or someone who isn't going to op at all, more than likely the latter.

Sorry, doesn't look like there's any solutions for the verizon model yet. If someone does come up with something in the future, it will probably show up here

You can also try you hand at the general purpose apps like kingroot, but I doubt anything currently released would do the trick

I just bought one of those 3tb hgst hdds from amazon. It was like $90USD pretty sure it was a refurb but no real proof. Used gsmarttools to test, seemed okay, however it is noticeably loud when writing or reading.

Should I worry about it or do you guys think its fine? I dont buy many drives so this is something I dont have much experience with.

I want to have a home server to use for file backup and cloud storage (with OwnCloud). What's the best way to go about this? Build my own server? If so, what should I go for in terms of hardware? Buy a prebuilt? If so, what are some good options? I've heard about people making servers with Raspberry Pi, so I've been thinking about that, too. I'm not planning on using RAID storage - I was just going to use an automated bash script to copy the contents of one hard drive to the other on a weekly basis.

I guess I want worry too much about it then thanks.

Does anyone know what some of these are, such as the TDA7088T's input 9 capacitor? I can't read this thing for shit. Is that Sn9? What does that even mean?

This is a stereophonic radio receiver from this website:
https://learn.mikroe.com/ebooks/radioreceivers/chapter/stereophonic-receiver-built-with-tda7088t/

I've acquired the 3 main chips, but I need to buy the rest of the resistors, capacitors, etc and I'm having trouble reading this damn thing.

Also, where do you folks usually purchase your resistors, capacitors, etc?

Had two mirrored hard drives that got out of synch somehow and windows failed to recognize them. I thought one hard drive had crashed and caused the other one to crash, so I got an .img file of the hard drive that was still working (turns out it was just unplugged, but whatever)

Now I just want to put the .img file back on to the hard drive. I tried getdiskback and diskexplorer, but after waiting hours and hours multiple times to fill the drive from hex view with data, nothing happened. The drive is still fucking empty, despite the .img file being 1.8gb. It's split up into multiple files, untitled.001 and so on, so I thought I should compress everything, but then it just couldn't be read. I tried PowerIso and I got a message regarding one of the partitions as inaccessible or something, but that's probably not important. Anyway, I'm just at wits end here. I don't know how to get this shit off; though it's clearly on there, unless I got 1.81tb of nothingness somehow. What do, faggots.

Forgot to check back on this post. Yeah I'm some kind of special. But the computer (T440p) came with an i5 dual core. Thing is, you could buy it with a quad i7 and it was still the same cooler either way. In fact the models with the graphics chip just had an extra pad attached to the same fan. Pic related.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
