What's the point of Microsoft updating Windows 10 UI?
The Neon UI looks like absolute garbage and doesn't appeal to the tablet users they tried so hard to shill to with their tiles.

they're listening to all the consumers that have telemetry and commenting turned on. turn that off and live with what they spit out.

The top middle one actually looks good
gonna assume M$ is sticking with the flat design garbage though
>>58687665
Too bad

M$ is too scared of scaring away the 30+ year olds.

People that know how to use any other OS have already ditched windows 10 abomination.
The only people that still use windows are mostly computer illeterates
>>58687692
>The only people that still use windows are mostly computer illeterates
Implying people don't want to use Windows and rather choose a dumbed down Linux de or Mac OS
>>58687709
No one wants to use windows, they use it because it's ingrained into normalfag tech inept life style
>>58687547
Christ this shit is so ugly it pisses me off. Good thing I can stick with win7 for now. I even really like the way windows 98 looked. The gradients and even the tones of grey seemed very carefully chosen. I would even use it on win7 if it didn't cause vsync problems. Is it still available on win10?
The buttons and things were the proper size to conserve screen space. Eh fuck. Now it's just glaring white. The contrast is painful.

>They made the Windows Mobile file Explorer universal
>they surely replace Explorer.exe
You do know that Xbox uses uwp apps as well and still needs a first party file Explorer, yes?
>>58687713
>>58687709
>No one wants to use windows
That's not true. Most people choose windows because it has the largest market share and biggest programm library
>>58687740
What? No, they use it because it comes pre installed in almost all laptops. Just like android and iOS
>>58687740
>That's not true. Most people choose windows because it has the largest market share and biggest programm library
exactly, they're forced to use windows because the software they used only supports windows
>>58687755
this does not imply that people did not consciously choose to use Windows, and would choose it again if you gave them the choice. certainly only a negligible percent would choose desktop Linux.
>>58687758
> forced
you are implying that a significant number of people don't want to use Windows, and are forced to. this is asinine. most people have no problem with Windows.
>>58687830
>if you gave them the choice.
As I always say:
Almost all people that use windows are computer illiterate and they don't know about any other OS. They probably can't tell the difference between Bing and Internet Explorer. Some of them do use Mac though.
On the other hand I found no computer illiterate that use Linux or FreeBSD.
>>58687674
Wow does that look hideous
At least windows people can just uncheck that part of the update
>>58687854
It comes out of the box, they don't want to fight around to get Linux on it. They don't want to learn how and where you get Programms for Linux. They just want everything to work. Ergo windows is for most people the best
>>58687674
Please don't tell me this is what they are actually going to go for. What a mess 10 is
>>58687740
Are you retarded, the software you can use for Windows is pretty limited, unless count heaps of either pajeet software or software thats over 10 years old. Because their Windows Store apps are pretty much nonexistent. I'd argue it has just about the same amount of software as macOS does.
>>58687854
Most tech illiterate people are too scared to switch to a different operating system. That or they don't understand the different quirks of other operating systems because Windows is so poorly done that the users get these bad habits that other operating systems dont have because they do it right, but it's still different, so they get scared.

I threw up a little

>Bringing back Aero/Glass
There's literally no Aero/Glass
>>58687547
>Microsoft has tons of legacy code that's bloating Windows
>Instead of getting rid of it they'll probably write on top of the old Explorer.exe
>Catering to "m-muh business" that can't learn something new
This is what's holding Microsoft back, the enterprise people.
idk neon looks pretty dope

wew
>>58687720
>I would even use it on win7 if it didn't cause vsync problems
is this the reason why I'm suffering from extreme screen tearing and "waves"?
>>58692602
yes
>>58692602
yes. I actually did use it on this shitty AMD laptop where the ram savings were worth it (3gb of slow ram for both system and igpu). That was absolutely worth it, but I got the tearing too.
Funny how that shit never caused problems until after aero was introduced.
At least Aero looks decent and is no big deal with my modern system, but it was ass on older hardware. What they're doing now is just incomprehensible and the worst of both worlds.
