Been reading "Java in a Nutshell" these last 2 weeks. Pretty good I guess. Might be rough if you don't have experience in a similar language like C++, though.

Yeah, it's easier, that's why reading the book is easy for me, because I already know C++. What I am saying is that this book in particular would be hard for someone learning Java as a first language, because of the way its presented. It explains everything, but in a very "unforgiving" way shall I say.. it assumes you already know about many programming concepts, otherwise it would be much more verbose.

Or I don't know. Give it a look, easy to find in pdf on google. Going slowly at it, and doing a lot of experimentation on the side, you might be able to digest it.
