I'm exaggerating, but if I leave my PC on with the CPU fan (only fan in the system) off, it'll go up to 70º in about 30 minutes

this is a mini-pc that's supposed to be fanless we're talking about here, total power usage while idle is less than 10W. None of the other components heat up over 30ºC. The fan has to be on at all times.

According to the manufacturer's website:
Operating Temperature: 0°C(32°F) to 70°C(158°F)

unfortunately I threw the box with the receipt away or I would have sent it back by now

I don't really experience slow downs or anything, so I'm assuming the temperature shows up as higher than it really is, but a 30-40ºC increase in half an hour is worrying either way

Generally speaking: Seasonic and Superflower are the best two OEMs, without getting into server-grade PSUs.

How do you check the health of an oem drive? Official Samsung utility refuses to recognize it, it's a Samsung msata ssd, about 12k hrs on, been using it for 3 years.

Sounds like it just needs some airflow and your case is lacking.

There have been consumer titanium units out since ~feb. of last year.

It's the only 80+ spec that requires load testing at 10% load levels (platinum and gold stop at 20%).

Meaning a platinum rated PSU could theoretically have less than 80% efficiency at 10% load levels and still meet the 80+ platinum spec.
