Is it normal for a 6600 (vanilla locked at 3.6GHz) to bottleneck a 480 in games? BF1 runs like dogshit (high fps average, but a lot of stuttering).

Are you on Windows 7, per chance?
BF1 stuttered like a motherfucker on 7 for me, but works perfectly on 10.
2500k and gtx970 btw

>he bought AMD
Stuttering and a bad overall experience is an AMD card working as expected. They get by on tricking poorfags with high average numbers, but games play like shit. Return it and get a superior Nvidia card. The 1070 offers amazing performance at a great price.

But anon, I upgraded from an FX 8350 and I didn't have the problem.

Yeah BF1 needs an i7, I had an i5 skylake at 4.2GHz and it was not that great.

There are some known issues with the 6600k and 7600k at the moment in BF1. Recently some outfits including Gamers Nexus found some very weird behavior on these models on chips during benchmarking BF1.

Non-k parts seem to also be affected for some reason.

>but works perfectly on 10.
wtf? i had i5 2500k + gtx 1060 + win10 and i was stuttering and dropping frames like crazy. I guess that's DICE magic coding that's getting stable performance is lottery.
