I'm trying to install some simple shit but whenever I try to "add-apt-repository" it gives me this same bullshit "check your connection" error, can someone explain what I'm doing wrong?
The only difference I see between my result and what I'm seeing online is the url has /api/1.0/ in it but I don't know where that comes from.
I'm a noob with linux, be gentle!

>root@pride
are you trying to trigger me?
>>58663703
I have a seven deadly sins thing going with my computers for naming conventions, why?
plz /g/ why is linux so bad
Jesus fucking christ it looks like the add-apt-repository command doesn't work and I had to do it through the UI, why even bother having terminal still.
>>58663544
Just install gentoo famalam.
>>58663830
>waaah I'm a winbabby and I cannot google error messages
>GNU/Linux is sooo bad!!!!!!
>no gaymes!"!!!!!
leave /g/,
now.
>>58664161
>google it
>first result is a guy asking the exact same question
>only response is some condensending asshole saying he's fucked up the syntax, which he clearly hasn't
Ever think maybe linux would be more popular if you weren't such a humongous asshole?
Just kidding, you want linux to be a failing OS so you can be a hipster about your niche bullshit.
>>58663830
>hack: command not found
it's broken
>>58664215
That was a joke, relax your panties.
>>58663544
did you wrongly typed a '[' at the end? and why are you using sudo with root? lol
>>58664261
I did on the first one, the others right after didn't run anyway.
> and why are you using sudo with root?
I've tried it with and without, the guide I followed said do it with sudo and I figured sudo in su wouldn't do any harm, but the fuck do I know about linux, for all I know it doesn't have the most basic support for redundancy checking.
>>58663726
Nice I do that too but I fuck the names up to make it less obvious.
Systems are named rpide/enwy/letarchy
>>58664281
su = switch user (default to root)
sudo = switch-user-to-root-and-do (and then switch back)
You don't need any of them if you're logged in as root already
>>58663830
Proxy? Can you reach https pages?
>>58664494
>rpide/enwy/letarchy
That's pretty sweet. I tried to keep it simple because my network is pretty secure overall and god knows I only started using naming conventions because otherwise I'd forget the exact name or syntax and then I'm spending more time trying to RDP into something than just walking over to it.
>You don't need any of them if you're logged in as root already
I know all that stuff, I was just trying to exhaust all possibilities.
>Proxy? Can you reach https pages?
None, and I have no issue reaching the page in a browser HTTPS or not.
But I managed to sort out all that bullshit, now the problem is kodi just won't run, nothing pops up at all.
